This is Kittitas County, and this is a winter sportsman’s paradise. For those wishing to ski, snowboard, snowmobile, snowshoe, or ice skate, our scenic little part of Washington is beyond compare. Ranging from the Cascades to the Columbia, there are over 2300 square miles to explore.
Hundreds of miles of groomed trails - and not-so-groomed if you like it a bit rough – snake through Kittitas County. So, if your goal is to never journey past the same evergreen twice, you’ll be in your glory. Come break your personal downhill skiing speed record at the Summit at Snoqualmie, or fill your winter bird watching quota as you leisurely snowshoe around Salmon la Sac campground – whatever your seasonal passion, we offer it here.
And, perhaps the most attractive reason to break a sweat this winter in Kittitas County is that after a long day on the slopes, the ice, or in the snowy forest, we’ve got homey coffee shops, restaurants, and shops where the local folks will warm you up just right.
